Hi Cheng,

there is no big consumption in ROM or RAM needed on a software UART.
E.g. I need 93 bytes code and 5 bytes RAM for a full duplex UART (4800 baud at 12MHz).

Only the baud rate should be slower.
But in my practice the 2. UART can always work on lower baud rates or in half duplex mode.
