Hi,
Why not use an external UART. Then you can choose any processor you like. Maxim has a nice solution, the MAX3100 or MAX3110. Free samples are available at Maxim's. It is a SPI to UART chip. It only needs 3 or 4 wires to control it, and a crystal to generate the baudrate. It needs very little software overhead. Regards, San Bergmans |
