On a 8052, the EA pin of the chip defines where the first 4KB of ROM (0000-0FFFh) is to be fetched from, internal within the chip or external. If you have the pin tied for the internal 4KB of ROM, then any address specified above this will be fetched externally to the chip. No programmer intervention required.
Tie EA low for external 4KB ROM, high to access the internal 4KB ROM block. |
