although Raghunathan is totally right in what he stated, yes, both documents are confusing! It seems, that logic ground can be found at PIN20?? Figure 16 of application note seems to suggest, that PIN1, PIN10, PIN11, PIN19 and PIN20 shall be connected to a local power ground plane, maybe also in order to remove heat from the chip?? PIN20 might be logic ground which must be connected to power ground at only one point. Connection between PIN19 and PIN20 seems to be the star ground point of this arrangement. Well, I would not guess any further, if I were you, but call the hotline of Texas Instruments to clear the situation! Good luck, Kai |
