I should heretically say the picture of Mona Lisa is only bank note and nothing more. And here is a proof:

Let we imagine two pictures of Mona Lisa, one real and another one forgery.
What is a difference between real and forgery picture?

There is no difference from observer side. Both pictures are completely equal. Real picture and forgery picture brings the same message to observer.

What than brings the difference between the pictures?
Nothing, but fact, that the real one has colors and canvas enough old.

Obviously the situation is crazy. Completely unimportant is what is on the picture (her art message). What is important is only physical property of colors and canvas.

So what is worth millions of dollars is that physical property of colors and canvas is original.
