So, introducing these CE standards over the last decade was very helpful to make the engineers to become sensible to EMC and saftey issues. But to pay several thousand Euros for a full CE test isn't nice, of course. Perhaps I could have made it clearer, but, provided you can show that you have exercised due diligence, possibly by the use of a technical construction file etc., you don't HAVE to pay 1000s of Euro for testing.
