I guess you could sample anybody from any source if you have a decent soundcard.

Nope, it was slashdotted. I have a skinned Furby all ready to go.

Take a look at the site I pointed out earlier. Good place to start from, though I would improve the hardware with some fairly simple tweaks I think. I would put a much better power management suite in his code for a start.
