#69332 - RE: set TMOD in timers Responding to: ???'s previous message |
When it took foot notes to clear up YOUR statement
any standard has a sheet explaining the standard, what is different here? His way was clearer because it used the standard definitions of the SFR (special function Registers) and binary representation (i.e. orl TMOD,#10000000b) Did you even read my reply "clearer to someone that has the memory capacity to remember that TMOD.4 is timer 1 mode 1 and the optical capacity to spot it is bit 4 without counting". I never disagreed that such a person would find the obscure row of bits "clearer". as for "standard definitions of the SFR", I Insist that all definitions indicate what they are e.g SF_.. which the "standard definitions" do not. Many use the "standard definitions" and insist that pointer names end _p. Where is the consistency when the name of a SFR can be whatever form and pointers MUST be a certain form. This is my way of interpreting simplicity. Again, as I said "we only differ on what is simple and what is not." Erik |
