None of our PC's have sound cards, neither (now I look) do they have joystick ports. I'm sure PCs used to pretty much as standard though - a 15 way D type, usually on the 'multi-function I/O card' that provided the FDD/HD/serial/parallel interfaces? I'm sure they had 4 analog inputs, very useful for a bit of fairly crude signal measurement.
