#70113 - RE: 89c2051& 11.0592Mhz with diffrent voltag
Responding to: ???'s previous message

One needs to refer to the datasheet to determine if
(1) the cpu will work at 3.6v
(2) if the cpu works at 3.6v will it work at 11.052MHz

I know the Atmel AVR parts work at the lower voltage albeit at a slower clock speed.

Assuming the cpu will work at 3.6v and at the frequency you require then the crystal itself should not change it's frequency by any great amount.

Put another way, whilst the crystal frequency may change very slightly (we're talking in parts per million) it is not going to change by the percentage difference in the voltage.

What you may find is that the power consumption of the cpu will still be appreciable with the crystal oscillator running.
