I am not sure of the pulse or data format of the Alps encoder. But if its one with the standard quadrature ( A,B,!A,!B) outputs then your life will be easier by using a Quadrature Decoder / Counter interface IC. One such thing is the Agilent HCTL 2022./ Get the data sheet for this and all your encoder interface problems will be over. Then you can focus on the code part of it. Raghu |
