#71291 - RE: EEPROM erased Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Regarding "MEMORY RESET", in my opinion, the datasheet's description of this device operation is misleading. I interpret the datasheet to mean "MEMORY device" for "MEMORY" and "2-wire interface state machine RESET" for "RESET" in this context. I would be extremely surprised if the device had a mode to erase the entire device with this simple sequence that does not even include device addressing.
My opinion aside, this "MEMORY RESET" function, if you believe it exists, should be easy enough to test. If you find that "MEMORY RESET" truly does erase the entire device after 9 clocks followed by a start condition, let us know, as that will certainly be a device that nobody will ever consider using again! |
