There is a lot of good information at the Lattice Semiconductor web site ( http://www.latticesemi.com ). There is also a free CPLD design tool suite that you can download from there called ispLever. They support a whole line of PLDs that are in-circuit programmable including the smaller devices in what are now knows as SPLD parts.
