I think Diaconu means a console computer to monitor nominal fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, average speed, fuel tank reserve (How far left to drive before empty calculated by the average speed and average fuel consumption) and so on. I have a such one in my car. It even has outside temperture monitoring and stop watch.
