#72636 - RE: Parallel to SPI interface Converter IC Responding to: ???'s previous message |
You may find after studying the LPC932 that you like the part so much that you end up using it for the main controller on your board!!!
The LPC932 at <$1 has more interfaces on board than Carter has liver pills. However, let me say LPC9xx instead. There is a whole family here, all with ISP flash and no need for a crystal, some with A/D, most with comparators, some with hardware IIC, some with SPI, some with specialized keyboard interrupts, some with more than 256 bytes of internal RAM. Soon to come: one with a kitchen sink :-). By the way they are very fast, even at low clock frequencies since they are 2 clockers. I have started making designs where a task is farmed out to a LPC9xx chip instead of the main processor, the timing ease of one task per processor comes in real handy when several processes are time critical. Another lovely thing about these devices is the codearchitect from www.esacademy.com. You enter what you want in 5 minutes or less and your "BIOS" is generated for you. Erik |
