A Push-pull driver will work and need both positive and negative supply.
A H bridge will work and need only positive supply. A relay will work and can be configured either way. When switching it is often important to have a 'gap' so the motor does not get full reverse power while running forward or vv. This will, in some cases require an additional switch. It's been a long time, but I think to recall H bridges with enable, that would accomplish the porpose. Erik |
