It sounds too complicated to me. The ADuC832 is ISP capable, with a laptop you could easily upgrade to new software, or with detailed instructions the user could also upgrade the software via their computer. You would have to have a USB master as Erik has suggested, running all of the time just to put the ADuC832 into "program mode" and read the memory card? That seems to me to be a unnecessary cost to the product.
