Not sure if you are looking for a product version number or a dongle type arrangement. Here is a suggestion for a dongle arrangement:
The PC supplies a randomly generated number to the 8051. The 8051 transforms the number in some fixed way and gives it back. If the transformation is correct then the PC software will operate. Andy ESAcademy |
