I use P89C51RD2.

I use a flash memory serial number.

To update it, I use IAP calls and serial comm.

Send by serial your new serial number.
Then you can use IAP calls to update the serial number.

In my case, I need to reserve a flash block for it, because P89C hasn't serial number facility.
