Furthermore this approach allow an easy automatic address assignation:
After power on the master sends an assign command followed by a number and any slave accept this number as its own address, but send its to the next with the number incremented. Then after the assign command returns to the master, all slaves have its own different address and the master knows, how many slaves are in the chain. Peter |
