#74304 - Move complete, DNS change propagating Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I have gone ahead and updated the DNS records to point to the new 8052.com server. That means that over the next few days everyone will start using the new 8052.com server. Since DNS changes are not instantly updated worldwide, this may take a few days for some people.
Looking at the webpage title at the top of your browser, if it reads "8052.com - Public Message Forum - NEW" then it means you are accessing the new server. If the word "NEW" doesn't appear then your DNS hasn't updated yet and you are still accessing the old server. If you find that your ISP's DNS server isn't updating properly and you're not being taken to the new server by, say, Monday July 19th, you may modify your "hosts" file to point www.8052.com to the IP address 69.41.174.64. The old server will probably remain online for another 2 or 3 weeks at which time it will be taken offline. At that time, of course, you'll only be able to access 8052.com if your DNS is pointing to the new server or you have manually modified your hosts file to point to the new IP address. If you run into any problems on the new server, please let me know here or via email. Regards, Craig Steiner 8052.com Webmaster |
