#74399 - RE: SAA1064 - digit blanking Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Excuse me Kai,
He said "blanking," not "blinking." Hallo Herbert, I understood Raghunathan's phrases "wonky blanking scheme" and "alternate blanking" in such a way, that he asks about an "alternating blanking", which would result in a "blinking". Nevertheless, I didn't read the datasheet carefully enough, and for this I apologize! Raghunathan, one could arrange the digits in such a way, that one could make alternatingly blank either the first two digits or the last two digits. By this, one could get a blinking display, where digits 1+2 are off and digits 3+4 are on, then digits 1+2 are on and digits 3+4 are off, then again digits 1+2 are off and digits 3+4 are on, and so forth. Such a blinking scheme can sometimes be seen with the display of sport events, or similar. An alternating blinking would be more impressive than a blinking of total display and this blinking scheme is also often used with railway installations, then using single lamps, of course. Kai |
