#74616 - Inductive load FET Driver |
Dear members,
I'm designing the control for a dead machine which has two stepper motors (5v 1 amp). I want to drive windings of motors with power switching FET IRFZ44 which in turn can be driven by a micros port pin. I have seen a circuits on the internet logic outputs directly driving the FET gate. Is it safe to do so?, fets on trasition in drain voltage can cause large currents into the gate. that means i have to put a gate resistance between the port pin and the fet gate. what is the procedure to calculate the resistor by seeing data sheet? thanks in advance |
