#75096 - Why using a solar cell? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hallo Dave,
I would use a non-rechargable Lithium battery, which provides supply current for more than ten years without any need for charging. Keep in mind that modern rechargable batteries, like the one you choosed, need rather complex charging circuits. And to get them working with only 1.5V from a solar cell, consuming less leakage current than 5µA seems rather impossible to me. Also, such low power consuming micros don't need a regulated power supply. Most of them have a wide range of supply voltage and can directly be connected to a battery. Add a 100nF X7R capacitor to power supply pins and everything is fine. Kai |
