No, no, no, I didn't read your post very well, did I? You were asking about a high side driver.
Some specific high side drivers with current protection are Siemens "MiniSmart" BSP350 1A limited, but SMD, International rectifier IR6210 and family (current protected 5A and up) and Siemens "Profet" family, 1.8A and up.
I would prefer discrete components myself, because with these "gadgets" you can never be sure how long your design can rely on replacement parts.
