I just want to avoid having 16 Murata filters on the LCD!
I have never5 put a filter on any wire INSIDE the box, that include LCD/VFD connections. If the LCD is in different box from the uC, you will have a slew of other problems. A setback will, in my7 opinion make no difference. The typical driver PCB behinn the LCD has a ground plane and that effectively "closes the hole"
