#78508 - RE: Port 0 as memory mapped i/o
Responding to: ???'s previous message
so I use 'c' where possible so I'm not stuck with maintaining everything!

Excellent!, Absolutely!, so do I.

However, the discussion is about converting existing code to "C" so "the Pepsi generation" can understand it.

If we old timers are to say "oh, well, if they cant read assembler, we will rewrite it all" instead of teaching them assembler a couple of things will happen (at least according to Murphy)

1) a module we forgot to convert to C need update after the last old timer has retired and everybody will be at a total loss.

2) a problem will delay a development for weeks, because nobody can read the compiler generated assembler where the cause of the problem stand out.

3) what today is fine with 2k LPC will need an ARM or a Pentium so it can be programmed in some "abstract" language.
