#78914 - RE: Newsgroups Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I bet there are many people that don't know of the existence of UseNet, but groups like comp.arch.embedded and sci.electronics.design are very popular. And of course alt.fan.landrover.... Certainly. I guess it's a matter of taste. A few years ago I tried doing news but I couldn't find a server that would let me connect without a password. And I don't know if GoogleGroups is characteristic of the delays of Usenet postings but I rather like the fact that someone can post a message here and have half a half dozen replies in half an hour... my own post wouldn't even be visible under GoogleGroups that quickly. If you use Mozilla, you have all the functionality you'd need ! Its only like using email. Mozilla used too much memory and I switched to Opera about a year ago. Regards, Craig Steiner |
