Important issue, wrong answers.
Insert step (0). Contact your suppliers and determine if the devices you need will be available lead (Pb) free. The part numbers (probably package suffix) should change. Our experience is about 80% of line items will be available Pb-free by mid-2005. Your step (1) is folly unless your vendor gives an unacceptable response to (0). Your step (2) is wrong. You want to be lead (Pb) free; phosphorus (P) and boron (B) regulations have not changed. Again, if you use a contract manufacturer, just contact them. |
