#79898 - Gate array usefull? |
Hi,
I'm looking for a solution to the following problem: I have a PCB with inputs/outputs that have to be connected to the IO pins of several PCF8574 IO expanders. However, I don't want to have a hard copper track between one of the inputs and one of the IO expander outputs. I want to keep it flexible. Is it advisable/wise/usefull to use a gate array for this? Or are there better solutions? With the gate array(s), I could program the device (ideally ISP) to connect certain inputs/outputs (connected to the IO outputs of the IO expander) to certain outputs/inputs (connected to the RJ45 connectors at the inputs). However, I'm not so familiar with such devices. Anyone any hint(s)? -- Geert |
