I am still avoiding to post complete Atmel news, but there is one I need share with you. Some posters here are interesting with mp3 decoder/player and I am glad to say that the life comes more easy for them now.

Well, Atmel has announced new 8051 MCU called AT89C51SND2C. This is C51 Microcontroller with Embedded MP3 Decoder and 64 Kbytes Flash. It includes interfaces:
- MultiMediaCard™,
- DataFlash®,
- SmartMedia™,
- CompactFlash™,
- IDE/ATAPI,
- SPI,
- Two-wire Interface (TWI),
- USB 1.1,
- I²S/PCM.

The main differences from AT89C51SND1C are:

- no ADC built-in;
- 20-bit Stereo Audio DAC on chip (93 dB playback stereo channel; 32 Ohm/20 mW stereo headset drivers; input/output lines);
- Mono Audio Power Amplifier on chip (440mW on 8 Ohms Load);
- package CTBGA100 (9x9mm with 0.8mm balls` step).

By the way, I have not heard about quality of Atmel analog products. Does somebody have such experience? If it is like of digital ones then I would stay aside.
