hi guys i was wondering if someone could tell me if it is possible to monitor current from a supply using a microcontroller

Yes it is possible. But your question is non-specific. Please answer following questions so that I can help you.
1. What current AC or DC?
2. If AC at what frequency?
3. How much current mA, 10A, 1000A?
4. What's the waveform shape if AC sinusoidal quasi-sinusoidal, square ?
5. With what accuracy it is to be measured?
