hi guys i was wondering if someone could tell me if it is possible to monitor current from a supply using a microcontroller it would be dc at 3 to 10 amps and i would like to be fairly accurate After using a descriptive subject, if you had also managed to ask a focussed question like : "How to measure DC current in the range of 3-10A with an accuracy of 1% of reading?" , I am sure by now you would have all the answers that you need! But now one has to wait to know how accurate is "fairly accurate". In any case I think you have some good tips by Tsuneo and Michael. Just remember to select the shunt with proper power rating, so that it does not heat up when passing the current to be measured - a potential source of error in such cases. Raghu |
