#82209 - Yes it is possible. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Paul,
is it possible to control a printer with a 80C52? for example drawing lines and circles? Yes, Paul it is possible to control printer with 8052 yes even drawing lines and circles. If you are planning to control a standard printer that you use with your PC parrallel port it can be contrlled very easily. [ Be sure its not a win printer ]. For EPSON dot matrix printers you have to use ESC/P printer command codes. You simply send these commands and your data to the printer over the parrallel port and printer prints. do a search for ESC/P in google and you will get links to web pages. Simillarly for HP inkjet printers they have HPCL command set. In the same manner you have command sets for almost all printers [ Remember I am not talking about winprinters ]. The other thing is the bare printer modules In these modules there is no logic it is simply set of few motors rollers, printer head gears etc. Such modules are available from EPSON costing 2500 RS. 50$ here in INDIA [ dot matrix ] and thermal ones are slightly more expensive. For controlling such modules your 8052 will have to control all the stepper motors of module the printer head pins everthing. The module is just a mechanism there is no brain in it.
