#82323 - Your opinion to Dunfields C compiler ?
Good evening

I`m just wondering if someone could give me a statement to dunfield c compiler.
I`ve some basic C and pascal skills and want to work with the AT89c4051 and AT89c55. I know there is a free C compiler named sdcc, but it seems to be a bit too complex, for an mcu beginner like me, to work with it.
What I realy need is a very good documentation with a step-by-step tutorial. I studied the page from the ccs pic compiler. The whole dev-system gives me a good impression. The compiler package includes a lot of libs and functions for working with LCD or RS232 port. I don`t understand one line of assembler, that means that I need precompiled libs to access the hardware with C functions. A compiler like this (same price) for 8051 would be great.
I found dunfields compiler site. A nice package for a nice price. But what`s about libs for hd4470 or parallel and serial port. How good are the shipped documents? Are tutorials included?
It is also important that I can share my questions, ideas or problems with someone. I didn`t find a mailinglist for dunfield users but I`ve read in usergroups that dunfields technical support is very competently.

What`s your opinion?

Greetings Karim
