The second link of Ijaz is a very nice example how pervert chip manufacturers are. This link describes that brown-outs can result in flash memory code corruption if the micro gets no valid reset signal. Ironically, brown-outs aren't detectable by simple RC-reset circuits, but nevertheless they are recommended in their datasheets!
