#84058 - Hard Drive Connections |
Hello all,
My design team is using a Toshiba MK2004GAL as a storage device for our MP3 player that we're designing. We have some sample drivers for our AT89C51SND chip, and we have connectors available on our development board. Basically i'm wondering if anyone has any experience in going from one of these "mini" hard drives (1.8") to a standard IDE cable. The Toshiba hard drive needs 44 pins, the standard 40 for the interface as well as 4 other for various power and ground. In the final design, we don't intend on using a big IDE connector, we plan on creating a circuitboard with some DDK MCD50 connectors on them. Right now we just want to do some initial testing and writing of drivers for our microcontroller, and it would make it a lot easier if we could just hook it up to our development board via a standard IDE interface. I've looked around online, but haven't really been able to find a whole lot in the way of the 1.8" 44-50 pin connectors. Aaron p.s. i'm sorry if this really isn't a '51 question but i was hoping that someone had some experience doing this. if this isn't, could someome please point me in the right direction? thanks. |
