#8446 - RE: BLUETOOTH: When will we care? |
Bit off subject (Bluetooth) but struck a nerve. Main thing is use of Bluetooth technology will see short range wireless comms in an affordable and legal way. The silicon will cost less than peanuts, the software tools will almost be given away. Have a look at Atmel's Bluetooth offerings. I don't have any interest in Atmel's profit, I just find them very innovative and obviously smart while on the aquisition trail. I am currently building a robotic surface pool cleaner - solar powered, multi 89C2051/4051 based, sonar distance and object measuring/detection, 'H' bridge to drive prop, R/C servo for rudder and sonar panning, etc. I would just love to have some Bluetooth technology for wireless telemetry on this unit just to see how it is performing.
