I have a VERY firm decision I made some years ago I WILL NOT BUY ANY SOFTWARE REQUIRING A HARDLOCK. Not because I have a problem with copy protection of software but because the hardlock is the clumsiest most irritating ( 5 messages "hardlock not installed" before you get through). If you want to protect your software, find amethod that does not hamper the utility of your software.
