The most expensive piece of plastic in my shop is the printer port module that validates my use of our $15,000 schematic and PCB layout CAD system.
<p>
Its incredibly foolish to put that much importance into such an easily destroyed unit. I put it in the fire-proof safe everynight - that also helps to prevent a disgruntled employee from tossing it away.
<p>
Of course, the CAD company will supply me with a replacement only if I can provide the melted or shattered remnants of the original. :)
