Is it possible to use a 8051/89C51/89C52 to drive 2 different serial COM ports?

If the 2 com port do not need to run at the same time, so that i connect the 2 com ports to the same MAX232

If you do that, the "far" end cannot tell that you have two different serial ports on the 8051, can it?

So you might just as well use a single UART on the 8051, and devise some sort of software "protocol" to distinguish what's actually sendng the data?!

There is no need for two COM ports on the PC, nor for two UARTs on the 8051!
