For your design as shown why do you need to have two of the MAX232 chips? You should be able to get by with just one chip by using both driver and receivers in one package. Take a look and I think you can see this too. You would only need two MAX232 chips if you were also trying to implement some of the RS232 hand shake lines such as RTS and CTS on each port in addition to the TXD and RXD pairs. Michael Karas |
