I was recently at a Linux workshop that had a hosted dinner party each night of the program (except for the last night.) Some were very elaborate--one was in a private garden/museum with a band, in Coconut Grove, FL. Each was sponsored by a vendor.

Maybe if some compiler, ICE, and board maker companies were invited, they could wine and dine us there. Don't let them do any boring product lectures or demos while we eat though ;-)
