Erik: Both of these "bugs" carried over from the original message forum. I found the error that was causing red-flag errors and fixed it, so it should work the same as before.

I personally do what you described above: Post a message, then click "back" twice to get back to the original list with "New" flags.

I'm still trying to think of an effective way to handle this. The only thing that occurs to me is to maintain a "newest message read" pointer for each user for each thread. Hopefully I'll have a solution soon.
