If you let others compile your code, perhaps we can see what code sizes are obtained using various compilers. I have Hi-Tech's C compiler and can see what the code size is--Erik might want to try also. If you are willing, you can send me the code snippet directly, or if you want others to try, put the code somewhere where you can give us a URL.

For Erik's Idea of having people test the code... We would need a common hardware platform to truly test the code's speed. It might be an interesting exercise, but difficult to make sure the code could be loaded and run on one piece of hardware.
