I know this may seem to be a dumb thing to want to do, but If I power down an 8052 with the PD bit in the PCON SFR, having first disabled all interrupts, does that mean the only way to awaken the beast is with a power-on reset?

I have an application where I'd like to kill things if certain conditions occur, and although jmp $ works, it doesn't seem a particularly elegant solution.
