Dear lian
at first any jobs maybe seen hard I think the following steps help you! 1. check with ohmmeter that all pins of lcd are connected to mapping pins of ucontroller lcd_rs: -> p3.5 ,... i think maybe one pin or more is not connected correctly 2. when you connect your lcd to vcc, gnd, vee (1,2,3 pins) you must see all pixel are on in one rows, with out initializing. if you did'nt saw then you must change quantity of voltage in vee pin with turning pot. 3. write a test program that sends 1,0 with delay to pins that connect to lcd maybe one or more pins don't work properly 4. change your lcd you can test your code with some simulators such as proteus5.2, you can download this powerful simulator in www.proteuslite.com Hope It is been useful.
