#8871 - RE: IrDA without IrLAP |
Rauf,
As Peter suggested, the problem with Bluetooth is its omnidirectional. This means someone can stand outside your office and interrogate any Bluetooth activity within its transmission radius. This means to me that Bluetooth has some major problems and after its initial implementation, will suffer a lot of unperceived hacks; rather like anything Microsoft writes. It you want security, you can beat light. Recently I posted a magazine reference on IrDA and Bluetooth. They were saying they were complementary systems and that both may interfaces my be appropriate for certain designs. That is my thinking on where I want our product to migrate in the next year or so. aka j |
