#88716 - request for comments on keyboard encoder |
Hi All-
This is my first post on 8052.com, though I've been lurking for a year or so. Anyway, my project is working, but since it's my first "real" 8052 project, I'd like to ask anyone who is interested to take a look at it and offer suggestions on how I could improve it. Basically, I wrote a program that allows an AT89C52 to monitor up to 28 buttons/controls and send make/break codes as appropriate to the PS/2 port of the computer. It also reads input from a REAL ps/2 keyboard, and passes the codes through to the PC. The goal is to be useful for anyone building a MAME cabinet or similar project. I'd also like to get the code into a shape where it could be released to the 8052 community in general as a good example of both bi-directional communication with a keyboard and bi-directional communication with the PC's ps/2 port. (Since I KNOW you guys see a lot of questions about those two issues.) Anyway, more details and well-commented code can be found here: http://shatterscape.com/projects/keyboard_encoder.html Thanks for taking the time to look it over! -Rich |
