Andy,
The datasheets have a lot of info and a lot of details. I did notices that in some code examples for the 8390 they would send a size of data to read and then issue a DMA read command where as in the code for the packet wacker they issue a GET PACKET command then just start reading from the dmaport. The datasheet for the dp83905 shows the get packet command. And after comparing the datasheet of the dp83905 with the code for the packet wacker, It looks all correct. |
